What makes a good coffee shop?

After visiting over 20 coffee shops within the last year, my husband and I have discovered what really makes a coffee shop good. Every time we find a coffee shop that we like, we always look for these elements, and 9 times out of 10 the coffee shop will have them. These all magically work together to create the coffee experience (all the coffee lovers know what I’m talking about). So, what are they?

Plants

If your local coffee shop does not have at least 5 live plants, I’m not quite sure if you can call it a coffee shop. The greenery in each coffee shop that we have visited is always astounding.

Exposed wood

May sound weird… but normally there’s gonna be either some shiplap or a random beam that kinda makes you question why is this there?

Local art

Just about every coffee shop we’ve been to will either have live music or local artists’ paintings.

Honorable mention: bikes

Sometimes a random bike is being used as a decoration in the coffee shop and I’ve just accepted it.

Next time you go to a local coffee shop (not just in Cleveland) look and see if that coffee shop has these elements. If they don’t, really reconsider your choice of coffee shop.
